Present valid dip braze specs are AMS 2673D, AWS C3.7 and various customer specifications. With the exception of AMS 2673D, your braze requirements probably must be supported by calibration and certification to the requirements of AMS 2750D oven pyrometry.

In essence, pyrometry is all the requirements that heat treat ovens (dip braze is considered a heat treat process by Nadcap), pre-heat ovens and salt baths must meet.

Some of the things that Hi-Temp does to meet AMS 2750D requirements are:

  1. All ovens and furnaces meet +/- 10 degrees F system accuracy (determined by periodic calibration)
  2. All ovens and furnaces meet either +/- 5 or +/- 10 degrees F uniformity depending on their usage (determined by periodic calibration)
  3. All equipment is monitored by installing and periodically calibrating thermocouples at the coldest point, hottest point and the control point
  4. All instruments are periodically calibrated and calibrated prior to installation
  5. Data logging equipment is utilized to record all thermal processing
  6. Records are maintained for 7 to 8 years of the thermal processing of all government and mil spec parts.
